A new study has found that the most likely undergraduate alma mater for those who earned a Ph.D. in 2006 from a U.S. university was China’s Tsinghua University.
No link as you need a sub or an academic library hookup to read it, but the naked statistic seems eloquent enough.
Jpseph Ben-David, I think it was, outlined how the centre of science shifted countries over time – the lead passing through a series of European countries, then finally to the US. Time, it looks like, for another switch?
